retreat report

although we were only at the retreat for about 24 hours, we both agreed that it was fun and relaxing as always.  it was a bit less structured this year than in years past, but i didn’t mind the free time and mr. happy stuff actually preferred it.  i took a great walk with a friend through knee deep (and sometimes hip deep) snow and took lots of pictures.

here are a few:

and when i finally couldn’t stand the snow gathering around my ankles, i went inside, changed into my comfy pajama type clothing and settled down to some games.  mostly boggle.

my favorite finds?  “salami” and “nasal” both found in this single game:

there were also some pretty serious ping-pong games going on:

and the day ended with everyone’s favorite varitey show–the hootenanny!  there is such a very wide variety of talent among the young people at our church– from banjo:

to speed-solving rubix cubes:

to scottish dancing:

to singing the abc’s (well, almost):

i got about 8 hours of sleep last night (not bad for a retreat weekend), but i ended up taking a very loooooong nap this afternoon when we got home.  aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……….
